This spaghetti casserole is easy to make, budget friendly, and super tasty!

Ingredients:

•1 Chopped yellow onion

•2 Jimmy Dean hot sausage

•3 cloves garlic, minced

•1 pack mushrooms, chopped (optional)

•1 lb spaghetti

•1.5 Jars pasta sauce

•3 oz fresh basil, coarsely chopped

•1 tsp dried rosemary

•1 tsp dried oregano

•2 tsp sugar

•1 small can black olives (optional)

•2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

•1 large casserole dish

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.

2. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

3. In a large skillet, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and optional mushrooms (if using) and sauté until the onions become translucent and mushrooms are tender.

4. Add the sausage to the skillet, breaking it up into small pieces with a spatula. Cook the sausage until it's browned and crispy, stirring occasionally. Make sure to add minced garlic during the last minute of cooking to prevent it from burning.

5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti, the sausage mixture, pasta sauce, fresh basil, dried rosemary, dried oregano, and sugar. If you're using black olives, add them at this stage as well. Mix everything together until well combined.

6. Transfer the spaghetti mixture into it, spreading it evenly.

7. Sprinkle the shredded sharp cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the spaghetti mixture.

8. Place the casserole dish on the center rack of the preheated oven. Bake for 30-45 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden brown around the edges.

9. Remove the spaghetti casserole from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
