This is a list of some of my favorite food gifts I’ve ever tried. These are things that actually taste amazing, feel special, and make people genuinely excited when they open them. From salty snacks and nostalgic desserts to gourmet pantry staples, beautiful olive oils, iconic pastries, and even full meal kits, there’s something here for every type of food lover. If you’re looking for holiday gifts that are thoughtful, delicious, and guaranteed to be appreciated, this list is the perfect place to start.

1.Boarderie Cheese and Charcuterie

Everything about this board feels thoughtful and high quality, from the beautiful presentation to the creative mix of cheeses, meats, fruits, nuts, chocolates, and olives. It arrives completely ready to enjoy with no prep, and every bite tastes amazing together. The rosemary and olive oil crackers pair perfectly, and the Acacia wood board makes it look so elegant and festive. I received one for my birthday last year, and it was truly the greatest thing ever. It is such a delicious, impressive gift that anyone would be excited to get for the holidays.

This company makes the most heartwarming gift boxes that truly feel like home in a package. You can choose from different soups and cookies, and everything tastes homemade and comforting. The chicken noodle soup and chocolate chip cookies are my favorites because they are so classic and delicious. I get a package from my family every year when I inevitably come down with my yearly round of Covid, and it always makes me feel so cared for. It is perfect not only for sick days but also for anyone during the holidays who does not cook and just wants the comfort of a homemade meal without any effort.

I’m not usually a tinned fish person because most cans look and smell like cat food, but Fishwife completely changed my mind. Their tinned salmon actually looks like real, beautifully seasoned pieces of fish, and it tastes rich and delicious. It is perfect for tossing into pasta, rice bowls, or dips. I also love their smoked salmon with chili crisp, tuna belly, and anchovy lemon butter.

4.Solovey Kitchen Cold Smoked Salmon

This cold smoked salmon is on another level, and it is so much better than regular cold smoked salmon because you get thick, beautiful cubes instead of thin slices. The extra maple candied version is my favorite, with an unbelievable texture and the perfect touch of sweetness. The sockeye salmon is sustainably wild caught and flash frozen to keep the flavor clean, then slowly cured, air dried, and smoked to bring out its rich, savory character. The center and lower parts stay tender and chewy while the top naturally firms up for that artisanal feel. I hate to admit it, but I ate the entire slab in 24 hours because it was that good.

Marky’s Caviar Butter is the perfect way to enjoy that same caviar flavor in a more approachable way. It combines rich, high-quality French butter with premium Osetra caviar, creating a smooth and creamy spread. You only need a little on a bagel, toast, or crackers to get that buttery, savory, umami flavor that makes caviar so special. It’s simple, indulgent, and feels like a small everyday luxury.

Chicago’s famous Garrett Popcorn is one of those snacks you never forget once you've tried it. The caramel flavor is my favorite because it is perfectly sweet, buttery, and crunchy without being too sticky. Each bite tastes like it has been made with care and has that deep, rich caramel flavor that feels nostalgic and comforting. They also have other delicious flavors like cheese, butter, and pecan caramel crisp. Whenever I visit Chicago, I always leave with several tins as souvenirs for friends and one for myself of course .

Ritrovo’s Truffle & Salt is a true classic. It blends Italian sea salt with real Abruzzo black truffle and a touch of truffle essence for an incredible aroma and deep, earthy flavor. When you open the container, you can actually see the little truffle bits and smell that strong, unmistakable truffle scent right away. Unlike other truffle salts that barely have any flavor, this one is rich, bold, and full of real truffle taste. It is amazing on everything from French fries and popcorn to pasta, steak, and eggs. Anyone who knows good truffles will recognize this as a superior product.

If you want a holiday gift that feels truly special, McLoons Lobster Shack’s Lobster Roll Kits are perfect. Named the best lobster roll in Maine, McLoons ships nationwide so you can give someone the real taste of a Maine wharf at home. The kit comes with huge, sweet chunks of fresh lobster, buttery toasted split top rolls, and their classic half and half style with warm butter and mayo. They are easy to assemble, incredibly fresh, and feel like such a treat. I always add a squeeze of lemon to brighten it up. For seafood lovers or anyone who deserves something luxurious, this is the kind of gift people talk about for months.

The Hot Ones lineup is the closest you can get to recreating the full YouTube experience at home, and it is one of my favorite things to do with friends. I have watched the show for years and love seeing celebrities try to keep it together while answering Sean Evans’ questions, but doing the challenge yourself is even more fun. I have hosted multiple Hot Ones nights where we make wings, line up all ten sauces, and work through them just like on the show. The best part is that the sauces are genuinely delicious, so it becomes an amazing tasting experience, not just a challenge. Picking up this season’s lineup brings that same energy straight into your home. Click here to watch your favorite celebrities struggle through the hot ones challenge.

Boozy Jerky is one of the most tender, flavorful jerkies you can buy, infused with beer, tequila, or whiskey and cooked down until it tastes almost glazed. It is nothing like the dry, tough jerky you find in most stores. The alcohol cooks out but the flavor stays, and everyone I share it with ends up loving it. I snack on a pack almost every day, and Montreal Maple Spice is my new favorite flavor, along with Spicy Citrus IPA, Teriyaki Twister IPA, Garlicky Pilsner, and Bourbon Whiskey.

Muraglia extra virgin olive oil is such a practical and thoughtful Christmas gift. It makes any dish taste better, and the beautiful ceramic bottles instantly brighten a kitchen. The oil itself is incredible, with a bright, clean flavor, and the handcrafted jars make it feel even more special. With so many designs to choose from, you can pick one that truly matches the person you are gifting it to. It is something people use every day and still appreciate every time they see it on the counter.

Jacobsen salt tins are one of those gifts that feel fun and clever but are actually incredibly thoughtful, especially for the friend who always says “needs salt.” These little travel sliders are filled with high-quality sea salt harvested from the cold, pristine waters of the Oregon Coast, where Jacobsen Salt Co. handcrafts bright, clean, briny salt with the perfect delicate crunch. I bring mine everywhere, and I hate to admit I am definitely one of those “needs salt” friends, mostly because restaurant salt in the South is usually caked together and mixed with rice. Never settle for dusty communal salt again!

13.Rogue River Blue Cheese

Rogue River Blue is the best blue cheese in the world, literally. It won World’s Best Cheese, and once you taste it, you understand why. Made only once a year with rich late season milk and aged in pear brandy soaked grape leaves, it has an incredible fruity, earthy depth and a creamy texture with bold blue veining. It is the best blue cheese I have ever had, and nothing compares to it on a crostini with honeycomb.

14.Jasper Hill Iconic Collection

This Jasper Hill Farm trio makes an amazing gift because you get a perfect mix of their most iconic cheeses: a soft, spoonable Harbison, a savory-sweet Cabot Clothbound Cheddar, and the fudgy, legendary Bayley Hazen Blue. It’s a little tasting tour of Jasper Hill’s history and craftsmanship, showcasing the cheeses that built their reputation and support their Vermont farming community. Balanced, delicious, and beautifully packaged, it’s the ideal gift for any cheese lover.

I always saw babka all over New York and assumed it was overrated, but on my last trip I finally caved and brought home a chocolate babka from Russ and Daughters. It sat on my counter for almost a week before I sliced it, and even then it was unbelievable, flaky, buttery, and packed with rich chocolate flavor. Their babka is hand braided and swirled with two types of dark chocolate and a touch of coffee, and you can taste the care of a family run New York institution that has been around since 1914. It is a perfect gift for chocolate lovers, and they make a cinnamon version too if that is more your style.

Prantl’s Bakery’s Burnt Almond Torte is one of the most unforgettable cakes I have ever tasted. It layers airy yellow sponge, silky custard, smooth buttercream, and a thick coating of toasted sugared almonds that create the most incredible crunchy exterior while the inside stays soft and delicate. Family run for more than half a century, Prantl’s has become a Pittsburgh institution known for handcrafting a dessert often named one of the best cakes in America. It is the kind of cake you can eat for breakfast or dessert, and it always wins people over.

Neuhaus has one of the most charming histories in chocolate. It began in 1857 when Jean Neuhaus opened a pharmacy in Brussels and coated medicines in chocolate to make them easier to take. His grandson later created the first Belgian praline and the family went on to invent the classic ballotin gift box. Today, Neuhaus still uses exceptional ingredients, and you can taste the care in every piece. Their Christmas Tree Box is a perfect example, filled with a lovely mix of milk, dark, and white pralines in an elegant package. The chocolates are rich, smooth, and make an excellent daily treat.

This is one of the most fun and delicious desserts you can buy. It looks exactly like a fried chicken drumstick, but inside is a layered mix of waffle ice cream, a chocolate covered cookie bone, and a coating of white chocolate and crushed cornflakes. It is crispy, crunchy, creamy, salty, and sweet all at once. Made with high quality local dairy and eggs, the cornflake coating, chocolate center, and creamy ice cream come together perfectly, and in person it truly looks like a bucket of fried chicken.

Kermit’s Key Lime Pie is the best key lime pie I have ever had, and it comes straight from the historic Key West Bight where Kermit’s has been making the real thing since 1993. Their pies use fresh key lime juice, a buttery graham crust, and a rich, tart filling that hits the perfect balance between sweet and tangy. The crust to custard ratio is perfect, and you can taste the freshness in every bite. I love it so much that I have bought a whole pie just for myself more than once. Kermit Carpenter opened his shop to make the best key lime pie in Key West, and between the classic pie and the famous pie on a stick, it is clear why he succeeded.

Milk Bar’s Birthday Cake Truffles are pure nostalgia in the best way. They take everything I love about funfetti birthday cake and pack it into one rich, chewy bite, coated in white chocolate and rolled in their crunchy signature B’Day sand. They are sweet, playful, and instantly mood lifting, like the birthday cakes we grew up with but totally elevated. I love anything birthday cake flavored, but Milk Bar also makes tons of seasonal truffle flavors if you want to try something different.
